The Morning Glory Project

Amy S. Peele had zero ambitions for holding elected office of any kind. She’d volunteered over the years in ways big and small to support her community and her kids’ schools, to pass bond measures, and support local and national candidates when she could.  But hold office? Nope.

Happily retired from her 35-year career in the dynamic and fascinating world of organ transplantation, Amy believed her retirement years would be devoted to writing the next books in her murder mystery series, travel with her family, and contributing as she felt moved to causes she believes in. Then came the tap on the shoulder and she learned of the underserved members in her community, the absence of vital issues in what would be her opponent’s platform, and the network of support she could tap into in order to run.

Today, Amy sits as a recently elected City Council member in her mid-sized suburban city. As she climbed the steep, sometimes bramble-filled learning curve as a first-time political candidate, she dedicated herself to running with integrity, authenticity, and a spirit of generosity and good humor, no matter what she’d encounter as opposition. And she did.

Amy is the author of CUT: a Medical Murder Mystery with its sequel Match to launch in Spring of 2021.
